Was your child late learning to talk? Does your child have difficulty learning the alphabet, numbers or recognizing letters and matching letters to sounds? Speaking precisely or using varied, age-appropriate vocabulary? Could she/he benefit from self-regulation exercises? Then this 8-week program is for your child.
Taught by two certified teachers, the Joshua Team’s ABCYoga incorporates a half-hour of music, movement and mindful, relaxing yoga before a half-hour session of early intervention reading instruction. The goal of this multi-sensory program is to give your child tools for self-regulated learning of phonemic awareness and phonics and help him/her letters of the alphabet and their corresponding sounds. Students will participate in Orton-Gillingham activities that aid him/her learn to read. This is a one-hour program once-a-week.
