Caring Hearts Grief Group for Children
Grief is a journey, not a single moment—it can come in waves. Caring Hearts, in partnership with Joshua Tree Learning Centre, is offering a special Grief Camp designed to support children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This full-day camp provides a safe and nurturing space where kids can connect, share, and develop coping skills through meaningful activities.
Camp Highlights:
- Equine Therapy – Healing through connection with horses
- Yoga & Mindfulness – Finding calm in the present moment
- Art Therapy – Expressing emotions through creativity
- Land-Based Activities – Grounding in nature
- Creative Movement – Guided by Darci Anderson, owner of Flux Movement
Location: Beaver Creek Ranch & Horse Centre near Lumsden, Sk.
Ages: 5 to 18 years
Time: 8:30AM – 4:30PM
Duration: Full day camp (Participants can choose to attend either Saturday or Sunday)
Class Starts: May 31st or June 1st, 2025 (*Please note that this is not an overnight camp)

Caring Hearts Grief Group for Children: Ages 5-8
The experience of loss is not singular nor static. Grief can come in waves. Caring Hearts, in collaboration with Joshua Tree Learning Centre is offering a Grief Group for children so they can gather together once a week to learn skills that will help them cope with grief and loss due to the death of a loved one.
Grief is different for everyone, therefore we have created groups to meet your child/teen where they are at. Some may need/want more group time and others, not so much. Groups are ongoing throughout the year and children/teens can attend as little or as often as they would like to.
Hosts: Facilitated by Renae Hunter, Master of Educational Psychology Practicum Student at the University of Regina and supervised by Stacey Adelman M.Ed. Registered Psychologist #807.
Location: Joshua Tree Learning Centre (3419 Pasqua Street)
Ages: 5-8
Minimum Participants: 4 people
Maximum Participants: 6 people
Time: 5:00PM – 6:00PM
Duration: 60 minutes
Class Starts: Ongoing
Class Ends: Ongoing
