Taming Worry Dragons: A Group for Children Experiencing Anxiety
Does your child struggle with worry, nervous feelings, or anxious thoughts?
The Taming Worry Dragons Group is a supportive therapy group designed to help children understand anxiety and learn practical ways to manage it.
In this group, children will explore their feelings in a safe, welcoming environment while learning how to recognize their own “worry dragons” and develop tools to tame them.
Using child-friendly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) techniques, participants will:
• Learn what anxiety is and why it happens
• Identify and understand their “worry dragons”
• Practice healthy coping strategies
• Build confidence in managing anxious thoughts and feelings
• Connect with other children who share similar experiences

Success Squad: ADHD Support Group for Children (Ages 7-11)
Success Squad is a strength-based, trauma-informed group designed to help children understand ADHD in an affirming and empowering way. Participants will learn about how the ADHD brain works, explore social-emotional learning skills, build coping strategies, and develop confidence in self-advocacy.
Sessions incorporate movement, art, play, and storytelling to support learning and connection.
Important: The first session is for parents/caregivers only, providing education on the ADHD brain, expectation-setting, and practical ways to support your child.

Galloping Toward Growth – EAGALA
Join us for a fun and supportive ADHD group experience designed to help children better understand themselves and thrive. Through play, movement, art, and storytelling, kids will explore:

Neurodiversity-Affirming Social Communication Group
This 6-week small-group program is designed for neurodivergent children ages 8–12 who want to explore the social world in a safe, supportive environment—without the pressure to “fit in” or change who they are.
Grounded in neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practices, this group helps children build self-awareness, develop flexible thinking, and learn to navigate social interactions in ways that feel natural, respectful, and empowering. Children are never asked to mask their identity or suppress their communication style. All ways of being and connecting are welcome here.
What’s Included
Over the course of six interactive sessions, participants will explore:
- Perspective-taking – learning to recognize and appreciate different points of view
- Flexible thinking – practicing adaptability in conversations and play
- Interpreting social cues & body language – gaining tools to better understand interactions

Pet Grief Support Group
Ages 8 Years to Adult (Children under 11-years must attend with an adult)
The loss of a beloved pet can be deeply painful and is often overlooked as a source of real grief. This small-group experience provides a supportive space to process emotions, share memories, and honour the bond shared with animal companions.

Feline Good: Cat-Assisted Therapy Group
A partnership between Joshua Tree Learning Centre and the Regina Humane Society
Cat-assisted therapy is an evidence-based approach that can support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and emotional stress, while contributing to overall well-being.
Through a partnership between Joshua Tree Learning Centre and the Regina Humane Society, participants will build hope, connect with others, and learn healthy coping strategies while spending time with feline companions.
This group is designed for teenage girls ages 13–17 who may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or similar emotional challenges. No formal diagnosis is required.
Participants will also learn about cat behaviour and body language and will complete training to become Regina Humane Society volunteers, allowing them to continue working with cats even after the group concludes.
