Brit is a registered psychologist with a background in education and mental health. She holds a Master of Educational Psychology, a Bachelor of Education, and a Certificate of Extended Studies in Inclusive Education from the University of Regina. Brit’s professional journey began in the Prairie South School Division, where she worked as both an Advocacy and Behaviour Consultant and a Student Support Teacher. These experiences shaped her commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive environments for all individuals.

Brit has a particular interest in understanding how ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence present in women and girls, recognizing that these experiences have historically been under-identified and misunderstood. Diagnosed later in life, Brit brings lived experience of neurodivergence to her work and values the insight this perspective provides. She is also interested in the intersectionality between neurodivergence and queerness, and is dedicated to supporting individuals who navigate these overlapping identities.

Brit acknowledges that she comes to the field of psychology with a white, settler perspective and strives to provide culturally sensitive practices through continuous learning and ongoing professional development. She is committed to creating spaces where all individuals feel respected and understood.

Her approach to assessment and intervention is rooted in a strengths-based philosophy, emphasizing that aspects of neurodivergence can be valuable assets in many areas of life, while also acknowledging the challenges that can come with navigating difficult symptoms. Brit works with individuals and families to help them recognize their unique strengths and leverage these to foster growth in other areas.

Outside of her professional work, Brit is the mother of two young children and a self-identified geek, often found gaming and collecting memorabilia with her kids and partner. She is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those she works with, collaborating to help them discover and celebrate their strengths.
