Catherine Young, M.Ed., RSW

Registered Social Worker #4722, EMDR Certification

Catherine is a registered social worker and holds a master’s degree in educational psychology with a counselling focus. She has been working with children, youth, and adults for over 15 years within a wide range of professional and volunteer capacities.

Catherine’s theoretical orientation is intersectional, integrative, and person-centered. She is enthusiastic about meaningful connections and nurturing relationships that are strengths-based and trauma-informed. Catherine utilizes expressive arts (art, play, storytelling, and movement) to facilitate self-exploration and healing, and works alongside the young person so that they can identify their strengths, build resilience, and move through life with confidence and a sense of self and belonging.

As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent person, Catherine understands how challenging everyday life can be. Her aim is to provide a safe space for young people to explore themselves and build their strengths.

Catherine enjoys art, music, green tea, and introvertedly adventuring with her husband, daughter, and dogs.
