Communication Support Group for Children Who Use AAC

AAC Intensive Summer Camp is a specialized, supportive summer program designed for children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This intensive group focuses on building communication skills, increasing confidence with AAC systems, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection through interactive, child-led learning.

Participants will engage in structured activities, play-based learning, social interaction, and communication practice in a fun, supportive environment tailored to their individual needs and communication goals.

This program is ideal for children who would benefit from focused summer support to strengthen AAC use, social communication, and overall confidence.

Joshua Tree Learning Centre, 3419 Pasqua Street, Regina

Dates:
July 13–17, 2026

Time:
Monday (9:00am – 11:00am) Parents and Caregivers Only
Tuesday-Friday (9:00, 10:00, 11:00 sessions)

Session Length:
Monday – 120 minutes
Tuesday-Friday – 60 minutes

What participants will gain/learn/experience?
By the end of the program, caregivers will feel more confident using the AAC system and supporting their child to communicate in ways that reflect who they are—their interests, choices, and voice—both at home and in the community.

What to expect during sessions?
Play-based intervention that focuses on meaningful connections.

Children who use AAC as part of their communication support
Age Range: 5-12 year olds

Group Size: 4 participant minimum to a maximum of 6 participants
