Caring Hearts Spring Camp – Beaver Creek Ranch
When: Saturday, May 14 OR Sunday, May 15 – 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM – Campers can attend either day, but not both. Please choose the day you would like to attend.
Where: Beaver Creek Ranch – near Lumsden, SK
Transportation: Campers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the camp.
Age groups: Ages 7-9, 10-12 and 13+
Camp participants will be assigned to a group leader for the day. Group leaders are either Registered Psychologists, Registered Social Workers or Clinical Counsellors. The group leader will take them through a series of activities designed to facilitate the expression of grief and the instruction of coping skills to manage their grief. Activities will include yoga, equine- therapy (working with horses), art therapy, neuro-movement activities and other hands-on activity-based learning activities.
Lunch will be provided.
What to Bring: water bottle, appropriate dress for the weather, loose comfortable clothing (we will most likely be getting dirty so don’t wear your best clothes), closed-toe shoes, hat, sunglasses, bug spray.
Note: We will NOT be riding horses. Rather, all activities will be on the ground. Brenda Clemens will design activities to teach concepts using the horses as teachers. Children do not need any prior riding experience to participate in these activities.
Deadline for Registration: May 1, 2022
Cost: $50 – This low rate is due to the generous support of Community Initiative Fund and Caring Hearts Donors and sponsors.
How to Register: Please fill out the registration information below. Once registered, one of our organizers will be in touch with you either by phone or email. There is a limit of 25 participants each day.
