Psychoeducational Assessments and Counselling for Children, Adolescents, and Adults

Katelyn has over ten years of experience working in human services with children, adolescents, and adults. She has a strong commitment to social justice and utilizes anti-oppressive practice techniques. Through the psychoeducational assessment process, Katelyn aims to facilitate equity. When necessary, she believes that formal acknowledgement of an individual’s limitations along with specialized treatment and/or accommodations contributes to a just society where the most people are likely to succeed. She also believes that we all have unique strengths worthy of acknowledgement.

Katelyn has worked in the areas of community-based outreach/research, harm reduction, public education, career and educational counselling, and the creative/expressive arts. She has specific experience supporting survivors of gender and sexual related violence, high-risk youth, post-secondary students, and families. In addition to her formal education, Katelyn has completed training in Expressive Arts Therapy, Integrated Body Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Critical Race Theory and Cultural Awareness.

Katelyn has two amazing kids, and loves spending time camping, hula-hooping, and learning new skills. As the family member of an individual with exceptional needs, she has a special interest in self-care for caregivers, family members, and other helping professionals.
