Dawn Craig is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) based in Regina, Saskatchewan. After completing a degree in Psychology from the University of Regina, she travelled outside of Saskatchewan to Minot, North Dakota, to complete her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. She started working in smaller towns in southern Saskatchewan, but Regina has always been at the heart of her work, and Dawn worked to return home. She has been in the city for over 25 years working in public healthcare as an SLP focusing on communication with adults and teenagers. Her communication experience includes therapy for articulation, aphasia, verbal apraxia, voice disorders, and cognitive-linguistic disorders. Her patients include those who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, progressive neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, and individuals who develop voice disorders. Dawn is a certified swallowing clinician and has worked extensively with adult inpatient and outpatient populations in settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and rehabilitation centre.
Dawn is accustomed to working in a holistic setting and collaboratively planning for patients. As a Lead Clinician, she worked extensively with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Dieticians, Nurses, Doctors, and Specialists to plan for patient care and reintegration into the community. She will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and support functional speech production, receptive and expressive language, cognition, voice, resonance, fluency and swallowing, including diet texture recommendations, feeding support tools and strategies.
