Each person is unique, which is why I take a client-centred approach; and, tailor my counselling modality to what best fits you and what you’re hoping to address in counselling. Therefore, I draw from a variety of counselling theories and modalities, such as: family systems and structural family therapy models; narrative therapy; expressive arts therapy; cognitive behavioural therapy; mindfulness practices; solution focused therapy; dialectical behavioural therapy; somatic therapy; motivational interviewing; and, many more.
I’ve worked in the field of Social Work for fourteen years. During that time I’ve developed a strengths-based; bio-psycho-social-spiritual; trauma-informed; culturally competent; and, anti-oppressive lens I will use to collaborate with you during sessions to help you recognize your strengths and reach your counselling goals.
Client focus: children, adolescents and teenagers, adult, and seniors.
Modalities: individual, couples, family, groups. Also, in-person and online counselling.
Specialties: trauma; anxiety; depression; childhood abuse; domestic abuse/violence; healthy relationships; codependency; grief; chronic illness; women’s health issues (PMDD/PME; post-partum depression); stress/burnout; self-esteem/self-worth; emotion regulation; anger management; suicide ideation; self-harm; ADD/ADHD; boundaries; parent coaching; positive co-parenting; divorce; 2SLGBTQIA; and, family conflict.
